ClearCase

All the ClearCase realted tools require registration. For a limited time, Trinity is providing these tools for FREE. To obtain your free license, do the following:

1.) Download the utility to get host information (gethostid.exe) by clicking here. NOTE: this tool must be executed locally. Do not run this tool from a mapped network drive or a network share as this will give you the wrong information.
2.) Download and fill out the license request form
3.) Send the completed license request form to info@trinity-software.com and include in the subject, "License Request". The same license key will work for all the tools listed below.

  ClearDiff Utility
This utility enables the user to perform a diff between 2 labels. The result is a table of elements that have changed (modified or new) between the 2 labels. This utility is useful for answering questions like, "What has changed since RELEASE1?" or "What is different from one build to another?" IMPORTANT: requires the .NET Framework V1.1 to run this application. Click here to download the .NET framework.

ClearView (see screenshots)
ClearView is an automated graphical utility that creates both NT and Unix based views in a heterogeneous environment. Specifically, ClearView automates:

• The creation of the views from either a Windows or Unix maching
  
• The enforcement of project naming standards
  
• The enforcement of project physical storage standards
  
• The enforcement of branching standards

ClearUtility Suite (see screenshots)
A suite of utilities that enhances and/or adds to the functionality of ClearCase.

• Evil Twin Utility. Utility designed to search a VOB for evil twins. A preventative tool to monitor and prevent the creation of evil twins common to VOBs.
  
  
• Security and Access Control Utility . Utility designed to enable a finer level of security for most ClearCase operations. Using this tool, a user can allow a user to perform most ClearCase operation on a per element level.
  
  
• License Utility Utility designed to help monitor ClearCase license usage. For versions prior to 1.2.3, please hot fix by clicking here.
  
  
• Multisite Utility. Utility designed to visualize and simplify synchronizing and fixing replicas. This utility is still in beta mode but you can try it out now.
  
  
• View Utility. Utility designed to dynamically change config specs on the fly for one or many views automatically. Users don't need to reset (setcs) their views. In addition, allows the administrator to relocate views from one server to another dynamically.

Fix Protection Utility (FPU)
When using Windows based views, it is common to come across various protection problems.  ClearCase reports an error "...Error:Operation view_ws_is_ws_view failed: view storage directory or control files unavailable --" .  Using FPU, the user can select the view or views with this problem and fix it with a push of a button.  For views whose storage directory resides on a server, the ClearCase admin can simply select a set of views and fix them all at once.  A great way to remotely fix views.

High Availability (HA) Deployment Pack
The High Availability Deployment Pack is a set of best practice documentation and PERL modules for deploying ClearCase in a HA Clustered environment (Veritas HA). This configuration supports the failover of a primary ClearCase server to a backup server without any impact to the user community.

Update ALBD Utility ( documentation )
This utility enables the administrator to remotely update the ClearCase ALBD service account for all clients on the network.

ClearQuest
ClearQuest is a highly customizable defect tracking and enhancement request management application. This flexibility also means the potential for a large amount of development to integrate and customize ClearQuest for an organization's requirements. Our library of ClearQuest utilities is meant to reduce the amount of effort to enforce your process by providing a set of 'out of the box' integrations and customizations.

Trinity Trouble Ticketing System
Our own Trinity Trouble Ticketing System is a customized ClearQuest schema designed to support a help desk team. Large IBM Rational deployments usually set up a Tools group to support the development communitiy. This schema can support the Tools group by allowing the user community to enter "Help Request Tickets" that can be managed and tracked through closure. A knowledge base is also integrated into the application to aid in the identification of problems.

Customization Accelerators
Trinity Software has developed a series of hooks and software scripts that assist in the quick, easy customization of the ClearQuest schema. Using these accelerators can dramatically reduce the time and effort required to deploy a ClearQuest customization that enforces and supports your process.

Application Integration Utilities
Frequently, ClearQuest will need to be integrated with other third party tools, applications and databases. Using our Application Integration Utilities, developers can easily manipulate ClearQuest data to more effectively develop high quality integrations with third party applications.
